Sorry but never buy an SUV like a land rover with a 2.0 engine. They are made from chocolate and are suited to the evoque even in the evoque they aren’t brilliant. Hi can anyone help me please? My land Rover discovery sport HSE 2019 is been with a problem since February so my garage had a look at it and said that they wouldn't touch and that I should take to the Land Rover garage as this were common problems with that engine. So I took to Land Rover and the only date available was at the end of may and they advised me to not drive the car, so the car has been in my garage for 3 months and finally I took to Land Rover at the end of May, a week later they have called me saying it was the stretching timing chain, so they fixed they went for a test drive the engine light showed again and this time some dpf issue and when they were opening to get that fixed they found out a major issue with the turbo. I asked if they could do something about because it's a common issue with the car and they said they would contact the manufacturer to see if we could claim for the repair as it's not my fault, the jlr replied saying that they would only pay 20% . I'm so frustrated and in a such bad place right now that I don't know what to do , 20% its not enough they are asking me more than £7,000 I don't have warranty because when I bought the car a year and half ago I thought it was a reliable car as they are so expensive. I've worked so hard to get this car, and now it's been 4 months with no use . Any help to how do I make a complaint to JLR and ask them to help me more, please ? Thank you

The only thing stopping me from buying a pick up truck is my local tip policy. They don’t want vans or pickups but its fine in a equally sized suv though. So obviously im looking at suv,s.

The no claims bonus is definitely used able on a van. I went from a car to a van and my no claims wasn't affected

The information on the web is very vague - I'd assume South Africa or Thailand? Couldn't find anything clear about a Ranger assembly unit in Europe. 2. Did your Raptor come with the remote start and/or FordPass? It would be interesting to see a video on the topic, not too many out there. Hi I'm thinking about getting one as I've always wanted one, and I've had my VW Caddy Maxi for 10 years, so after spending £4k+ recently on repairs, I want a more basic vehicle. I love my Caddy, but because of the 5k miles a year I do, a lot of hot and cold cycles have put things under stress e.g. broken electrical cables (£700+ bill, mainly finding and getting to wiring loom to repair it). As for your ECU, someone's been in there obviously, so what was the quality of parts they replace, how long ago was it done and who did it? THE ECU is basically a computer, and remapping it is only tweaking the software parameters, which is like an update on a phone, pc, games console, etc. and they don't go bang afterwards. Everything will break due to age eventually. Making it of higher quality materials would make it last longer, but at least it's reparable.

Great video , I guess there is no replacement for displacement ! Just a note when hooking up your red break away cable don't just loop it round the tow ball as if the hitch came of there is a chance the break away will come off too . There is an oval hole on the frame of the tow bar to click the clip through . Was thinking of replacing my Audi Q7 4.2tdi with a ranger but as I tow a 3000kg trailer everywhere for work even the larger engined ranger is well down on my current 340 bhp

They are shit, in the wet, they boost up and loose traction in the arse end, even when towing. When turning from a standing start they just loose traction on the inside wheel. I sold mine, they might be popular, but in my opinion are rubbish, including off road, they struggle, all show & No Go.

I am kind of person who want keep things as is as long as it is not needing repairing or replacing. I dont mind bit of dents and scratches and pint loss. They give character. But I want all mechanical to be as perfect as possible. I dont mind oil leak. But those rusty chassis must be cleaned inside out in summer and paint and coating! Need to do good seat sponges ! I have not done mine yet as UK money is way too high for AUD!

RAF blue, galvanise as much as possible, black truck bed canvas but leave the cab intact. I have “speedliner” in the rear of my 90 truck, it’s a raptor coat, very hard wearing and grey in colour, looks very smart and subtle too.

Portofino Red! Rarely see any pick-ups in that colour, and done properly it's a lovely colour :)

One thing to add is when you put the gearbox in reverse, the backup camera turns on automatically - as it should. But, when you switch back to drive, the front camera view does NOT come up. The whole camera just disappears which is quite odd.

LR Parts / Masai offer a fixed rear window for a 110, not sure if that would fit the back? Alternatively the Frontrunner Gullwing window may also work. Colour wise, I think you can’t beat a Marine Blue, with white roof and heritage grill & bumper.

I suppose the parking brake issues relates to the RAPTOR being actually quite old in its design etc. If you’re on a hill brake, then Park is belt and braces. Re your car, and I must respect that it’s your car, I really don’t like them. I’d prefer another LandRover. I’m aware of all of the issues you have experienced but the Raptor is a commercial vehicle morphed into some sort of MPV. I bet the ride is heavy. However it’s your choice and I hope it is enjoyable…. Ford service departments…. Well they’re all poor in my experience.

I would save some money with the cappings and get them sand blasted and galvanised, just done it myself and its come out really well.

I would stick with a factory colour scheme, OK your not considering selling yet but at some time you will be. The chassis looks good, as usual I would use Kurust to treat rust surface areas (wire brush the worst off first) and then coat with Corroless black chassis paint. Then you can use your Dinitrol on top of that. I would recommend 3125 HS as it is a light brown colour and doesn't coat everything in a horrible bitumen coating that other rust preservers do. Glad your not considering using Lanoguard again, as this only works on pristine condition chassis, not the sort of trucks we end up buying. There is a reason it only takes a short while to spray on. Using Kurust and Corroless will take many hours to do properly, there's a good reason way this method is superior.

I would go for a truck like that I would just use android auto i have a Samsung and I hate apple

Hi Doc, My current Defender was Corris grey, I have had it sprayed Corris grey and Santorini black like the last Defenders that were made, I think they were called Autobiography Defenders, really looks cool but a modern look. I had a Suzuki LJ80, I sprayed it ‘Westminster’ blue with a matching blue mohair hood, it’s a really old colour that all the government cars and royalty cars were sprayed, it’s a block colour, very deep. If you need any photos I can show you. I had the hood made by a marine outfitter in Portsmouth. Kind regards Tony

Leave it original - over restored examples do not turn heads like one with its patina. Every dent, scratch etc is part of a Land Rover’s unique history.

On my 130 Tipper and my Td5 HCPU, I removed the rear window unit and had a plant glass glazer fit a one piece window, firmly bonded in place…. no rattles ever!
